Unveiling the iconic "D01," Studio D'Artisan's pioneering denim masterpiece that shook up the vintage denim scene in the 1980s in Japan. Returning to their roots, SDA meticulously examined archived pieces of these jeans to replicate the distinct uneven texture of the fabric using a robust no. 6 yarn blend. Going the extra mile, the yarns undergo 20 rounds of natural indigo dyeing using the Kasezome (skein dyeing) technique by seasoned artisans in Tokushima. Featuring a classic regular-straight fit, the "Origin" jeans are adorned with a Selvedge cinch back fastener, paying homage to the vintage Selvedge jeans of the 30's.
The four-button fly features the distinctive Original Studio D'Artisan copper buttons, and the selvedge construction adds a touch of craftsmanship to every detail. From the engraved copper rivets to the heavy duck canvas pocket bags and the fifth pocket selvedge detail, each aspect reflects the brand's dedication to superior craftsmanship. The SD-101 also showcases the iconic Studio D'Artisan original back pocket arcs and is adorned with a premium leather patch, making it a true masterpiece in denim design.
As many other SDA Jeans, the SD-D01 runs slightly small in the one wash version. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
Under the slogan of "Reconstruction of great old things", Studio D'Artisan is one of the iconic brands of Japanese denim. Founded by Shigeharu Tagaki and reproducing classics of French and American workwear since 1979, Studio D'Artisan takes pride in having been one of the Osaka 5.
